The floating production, storage and offloading vessel at the heart of BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) liquefied natural gas project offshore Mauritania and Senegal has sailed away from its fabrication yard bound for northwest Africa.

Built at Cosco's Qidong yard in China under a sub-contract from Technip Energies, there were fears last year that the FPSO could have been badly damaged by the passage of Typhoon Muifa in September.

However, concerns about major delays proved to be unfounded despite the vessel sustaining minor damage.
