US liquefied natural gas exporter Sempra Infrastructure has reached an agreement with the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) for the offtake of about 3 million tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG from facilities at Cameron, Louisiana and Port Arthur, Texas.

Poland is currently facing a potential gas crunch, as PGNiG purchased more than half of its natural gas supply from Russia’s Gazprom in the first quarter of the year.

That supply has been cut due to PGNiG’s refusal to pay for the imports in rubles in accordance with Russian demands on nations deemed "unfriendly states".
