US liquefaction player Venture Global has entered into a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with UK supermajor Shell, the company said on Monday.

The agreement would see Venture Global supply Shell with 2 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas from its Plaquemines LNG export facility in the US state of Louisiana.

This new deal builds on Shell’s existing contract for 2 million tpa from the Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal, bringing Shell’s total long-term offtake from Venture Global’s facilities to 4 million tpa.
