Shell has suffered another setback due to the protracted industrial action on board its Prelude floating liquefied natural gas vessel offshore Western Australia.

The UK supermajor has had to defer planned maintenance work on the floater scheduled for September because of the ongoing industrial action, which again has been extended — now until at least 25 August.

The planned turnaround for the Prelude FLNG vessel, which was due to begin next month, would have seen a scheduled shutdown to perform major maintenance on the facility and to undertake any work that cannot be performed while it is producing.
