Another LNG carrier has gone into a shipyard for conversion to a floating storage and regasification unit.

Golar LNG chief financial officer Graham Robjohns confirmed the 137,000-cbm Golar Freeze (built 1977, pictured) has entered Keppel Shipyard in Singapore for its conversion job. The unit is due to be completed by March 2010.

When complete the Golar Freeze will be chartered to the Dubai Supply Authority for 10 years under a contract worth a total of $450 million.
