BP has confirmed it is carrying out feasibility studies on the possibility of a large-scale project to power central North Sea platforms with green electricity from shore and that it is also considering renewable energy for its Clair South development in the West of Shetland area.

Confirming an exclusive Upstream story from November, BP regional president Ariel Flores said feasibility work is “continuing” with Shell and Total, and that the group was “looking to involve a few other” operators in the central North Sea.
