Italian major Eni has teamed up with an investment bank and a compatriot shipbuilder in an initiative aimed at cleaning up plastic marine litter.
The oil and gas giant has joined forces with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and shipbuilding company Fincantieri in a pact that will explore converting the plastics into usable products.
The Italian trio signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of studying and developing technologies to collect the waste dispersed at sea and along the coast, and use it to create products for sustainable mobility and industrial uses.
