Jim Farnsworth, Cobalt’s chief exploration officer, said that based on extensive logging and coring data, “we believe that Orca has between 400 million to 700 million barrels of oil, exceeding our pre-drill estimates”.
He added that the resource estimate is based on “the scale of the oil column, the thickness and quality of the reservoir and the large size of the Orca structure”.
