Putting EM back on the agenda

An increasing chorus of voices is suggesting that the potential role of marine-controlled source electromagnetic surveying (CSEM), briefly the darling of the E&P business, is now better understood and could be set for rehabilitation.

Lucy MacGregor, chief technology officer at Rock Solid Images (RSI), is one of those voices. “People are coming back to it,” she says. “To get the most out it, they need to appreciate that CSEM is best analysed and interpreted in an integrated framework with well log, seismic, and other available data types.”
