The Swedish independent is currently facing an investigationby Swedish public investigators into alleged human rights violations in Sudan, where Lundin was previously operator of Block 5A before quitting the country, as well as Ethiopia.

Folksam, backed by other institutional investors, hadproposed a motion at Lundin’s annual general meeting last month that thecompany should also carry out an independent investigation.

However, the move was flatly rejected by Lundin’s management, led by chief executive Ashley Heppenstall, who told investors backing the probeto either withdraw their demand or sell their shares in the company.
