The OzBeta-1 is the first of up to three vertical wells to be drilled as part of the company’s 2014 work programme.
Joint venture partner Baraka Energy & Resources said drilling was now steaming ahead at the well in Exploration Permit 127.
The well is a vertical test well near the border of EP104, with drilling expected to take about 28 days.
