Maersk Drilling has secured a $10.5 million contract extension for its jack-up rig Maersk Intrepid at Equinor's Martin Linge field offshore Norway.

The new well intervention work will last 31 days and has been added to a previously agreed deal, which means that the rig is now contracted until February 2022.

Maersk Intrepid is an ultra-harsh environment low-emissions CJ70 jack-up rig, designed for year-round operations in the North Sea. It was delivered in 2014.

Maersk was awarded an original four-well contract for the unit in April 2020.
