The float-over concept involved a Dockwise-owned cargo barge carrying the heavy topside being made to enter the slot created between jacket legs and stab the complete topside on the jacket legs.
Afcons Infrastructure said the installation of the 8300 MT structure was completed in 34 hours earlier this week.
The contractor said it was only the second time such an operation to mate a platform topsides and jacket had been carried out in India and claimed it was the first Indian EPC contractor to complete a float-over installation on time.
