The Norwegian contractor, which will execute the engineering and procurement deal through its Singapore subsidiary, apparently has pipped local player Keppel Shipyard that was understood to be in line for the coveted award.
Aibel is already the front-end engineering and design contractor for the project.
The workscope of the contract, for which a value was not disclosed, covers modifications to the FPSO’s topsides, hull and turret, along with installation of a new custom waterflood module.
