Norwegian contractor Aibel has landed the front-end engineering and design deal from compatriot Statoil for the Snorre Expansion project off Norway.
Aibel is thought to have pipped US player Wood Group Kenny to land the contract, which also includes an option to implement the next phase of the field development, once concept studies are completed.
The FEED study involves modifications to be made to the Snoore A platform in order to facilitate a subsea tieback.
