Aker in frame for BP field awards

Aker Solutions has secured two framework agreements with BP that pave the way for contract awards on the UK supermajor’s offshore field projects worldwide.

The first pact covers feasibility and concept engineering while the second is for front-end engineering and design services covering the gamut of upstream developments.

The deals build on subsea framework contracts with BP awarded recently to the Norwegian engineering contractor.

"We can now apply our full range of expertise from subsea to surface to drive efficiency and maximise value for a key customer,” chief executive Luis Araujo said.

Aker Solutions said the value of the latest agreements is contingent on the volume of work requested by BP, with orders to be booked in its backlog as they are received.
