The workscope of the award covers delivery of 180 kilometres of steel tube umbilicals that will connect the Mediterranean Sea field to an offshore control platform, making it the longest such system supplied by the Norwegian contractor.
Work under the contract with Petrobel, a joint venture between the Italian operator and state-owned Egypt General Petroleum Corporation , will be led by Aker’s subsea division in Oslo, with manufacturing of umbilicals to start immediately at its Norway facility.
