Aker will carry out front-end engineering and design work for the development of the fields, which lie in the Idemitsu-operated blocks 05-1b and 05-1c in the Nam Con Son basin.
The company said the outcome of the FEED would be used by Idemitsu to make an investment decision for the first phase of development at the fields.
Aker did not state how much the contract was worth but said it had been booked as part of its second-quarter order intake and, at its peak, would involve about 100 engineers, designers and drafters out of the company's regional hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
