Last month, Apache announced that it had discovered 75 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 3 billion barrels of oil in place in the Woodford and Barnett shales with potentially more to be discovered in the overlying Wolfcamp and Bone Spring intervals.
Now, Houston-based Apache has committed to work with researchers from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) to collect baseline data on the both the surface water and groundwater in the high desert region at the southern end of the Delaware basin.
