Origin's output in the first quarter equated to 60.9 peta joules equivalent, up 65% on last year's first quarter figures.

The increased output was attributed to APLNG which shipped its first LNG cargo on 9 January this year, with a total of 11 cargoes leaving the project on Curtis Island during the quarter.

Origin also noted the BassGas project, off Victoria, also provided a slight bump to production with the start-up of the Yolla-5 and 6 wells, which helped partly offset lower production from the Otway basin.
