The Saudi state giant has decided to extend its contract for the AOD III unit for the remainder of 2016 at “reduced rates”, joint venture partner Mermaid Maritime said.
Mermaid has a 33.76% stake in Asia Offshore Drilling (AOD), in which London-based rig giant Seadrill holds the remaining 66.24%.
The rig has been working for the same client in the Middle East since 2013.
