The Saudi Arabian state oil giant — headed by chief executive Amin Nasser — has asked its existing four fabrication contractors to submit revised commercial offers later this month.
Aramco is understood to be seeking price reductions to reflect changes in market sentiment this year in the wake of sharp declines in crude prices.
In addition, Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) is believed to be a fifth contender, invited by Aramco to submit its own commercial offer, sources said.
