The Canada-listed Latin American producer said president Jose Francisco Arata would "retire" from the company and its board with immediate effect.
His duties of the longtime president will be taken over by chief executive Ronald Pantin, while attorney Monica De Greiff will take over the vacant board seat.
A reason for the departure was not immediately provided.
Pacific has had a tumultuous year, first losing a key contract with Colombian state oil company Ecopetrol for the Rubiales field.
