The Australian explorer said the well, which is testing multiple targets from a single vertical well in the Glyde sub-basin of the McArthur basin, intersected live oil in fractures at a depth of 535 metres.
It also encountered oil shows and background and connection gases at various other intervals, with core samples taken for further analyses.
The well is currently at a depth of 550 metres and is drilling ahead towards further targets.
