The Ministry of Public Security said it is investigating Nguyen for abuse of power and violations of state economic management regulations from the time that he was in charge of Ocean Commercial Bank, reported Thanh Nien News.
Nguyen was allegedly involved in PetroVietnam’s decision to make a substantial investment in the bank, which was acquired by the central bank in April as part of efforts to restructure weak banks.
