The Ocean Response will be converted at Hellesvoy Verft on foot of an existing contract with Norwegian state-controlled player Statoil.
Conversion will offer more flexibility, with the unit to serve as an emergency and response vessel, Atlantic said on Thursday.
Built at Bergen Yard in 2013, the 3824-gross-tonne Ocean Response can accommodate 24 people.
