Atrush partner ShaMaran Petroleum of Canada said in a statement that the Chiya Khere-5 (CK-5) development was successfully tested. The well was drilled in May and suspended in June of last year.
It was re-entered in May this year and three well tests using an electrical submersible pump were carried out, Shamaran said.
The first, conducted over a 24-metre interval in the Mus formation, tested at an average oil rate of 750 barrels per day.
