The Waitsia-2 well is being drilled to a total depth of 3803 metres to test the gas potential in the southern extension of the field, with primary targets in the deep conventional formations in the Kingia and High Cliff sandstones.
The well is expected to take about seven weeks to drill and, if successful, could be completed as a future producer for a potential future field development.
