Drilled in the centre of the Milpera Trough in PEL 94, the well aimed to demonstrate the extension of coal and shale formations from the centre of the Cooper basin to the Southern Cooper unconventional region
Well partner Strike Energy announced the well reached a total depth of 2102 metres and that wireline logging and sidewall coring had been completed.
Aside from the 45 metre seam, a further two seams with net coal thickness of over 20 metres were hit, with elevated gas shows recorded across the formations.
