The Stunsail-3 well was drilled to develop oil bearing reservoirs in the Namur and mid-Namur sandstone at the field, as well as to assess the potential for reservoir development in the Birkhead formation.
Beach revealed in its monthly drilling report on Wednesday the well had hit two metres of net pay in the Namur sandstone and four metres in the mid-Namur sandstone, along with strong oil shows in a 15 metre gross interval in the Birkhead formation.
