The well was drilled 470 metres west of the Thylungra-1 well, targeting oil in the Hutton sandstone, along with secondary gas targets in the Toolachee and Patchawarra formations.
Beach revealed Wednesday the well had been cased and suspended as a future gas producer after hitting about 17 metres of net gas pay across the Toolachee and Patchawarra, while minor oil shows were also recorded in the Birkhead formation.
