Bechtel on schedule in Queensland

Bechtel has been engaged for the past seven years as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for all three LNG projects in Queensland.

The company landed in this situation because all three projects – BG Group's Queensland Curtis LNG, Santos/Petronas' Gladstone LNG and ConocoPhillips/Origin Energy's Australia Pacific LNG – selected ConocoPhillips' Cascade liquefaction technology, which is marketed exclusively by Bechtel.

Each project required two LNG trains, all to be built side-by-side on Curtis Island, and simultaneously.
