The Australian minerals giant "encountered gas in multiple zones" in its LeClerc well, which was drilled to a total depth of 22,876 feet on Block TTDAA 5 about 135 miles off the east coast of the island of Trinidad, the company said.

LeClerc, formerly known as Pegleg, was drilled on a Miocene-aged structure that runs 20 kilometres long and five kilometres wide.
