The pipeline, which transports crude from Kurdistan to Turkey, was bombed, however, no injuries have so far been reported.
“We have shut down the pipeline after an explosion to stop the oil flow,” Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said in a statement.
“We have taken the necessary steps and the attack will not impact supply and demand,” he said.
It is still unclear when the pipeline will be restarted.
