BNK drilled the well to a total depth of 4840 metres but had encountered thicker rock than anticipated at the lower portion of the Middle Silurian formation.
The company said it had been compelled to increase the total depth of the well to about 5150 metres and as a result required both an Environmental Decision and formal approval from Poland’s Ministry of the Environment.
