BP made the announcement Wednesday, the same day it announced a $10 billion deal to supply China Huadian Corporation with 1 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per annum over the next 20 years. Both agreements were signed with Prime Minister David Cameron and Chinese President Xi Jinping standing by.
BP and CNPC are already partners in the Rumaila oilfield project in Iraq.
