The UK supermajor is aiming to start flows from the Atoll field in the North Damietta Offshore concession in 2018, it said on Thursday.
The accelerated development plan comes after signing of a heads of agreement with the government.
BP envisages the field being developed in two phases, with the first phase to see two development wells tied into existing infrastructure. It is likely that each well will deliver around 200 million cubic feet of gas per day.
