The amendments cover the Temsah, Ras El Barr and Nile Delta Offshore permits and will “allow for the economic development” of Nooros, where BP and partner Eni aim to boost production to 800 million cubic feet per day in early 2017 from a record level of 700 MMcfd achieved this month.
The UK operator also intends to drill additional wells in the Ras El Barr and Temsah areas that are expected to significantly increase gas deliveries to the domestic market.
