BP has re-started operations at its Chirag platform on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) development off Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea after a period of planned maintenance downtime.
The UK supermajor said the platform was re-started on Thursday “following successful completion of its turnaround”.
“The scope of work under the programme was completed safely,” it continued in an e-mailed statement.
BP’s operations in Azerbaijan’s section of the Caspian were unaffected by the disaster that struck state player Socar last week when a fire broke out on the Number 10 platform on the Guneshli field leaving more than 30 either missing or dead.
