Speaking at the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association conference in Melbourne, BP’s vice president exploration for the Asia Pacific region, Bryan Ritchie, stated the company was looking to spud an exploration well on the Stromlo prospect in October next year.

BP was awarded four blocks covering 24,500 square kilometres in January 2011 with a commitment to gather 3D seismic and drill four exploration wells by the mid-point of its six-year work programme, which has since been extended from January 2017 to June 2020.
