BP starts Thunder Horse water injection

The project will boost recovery of oil and gas from one of the Thunder Horse field's three main reservoirs in Mississippi Canyon Block 778.

BP has in recent years drilled two water producers at Thunder Horse in an effort to raise recovery and extend the field's life.

Richard Morrison, regional president of BP's Gulf of Mexico business, said: "This project will help BP sustain high levels of oil production in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico for years to come.
