The group said on social media that it plans to host the rally on Sunday, 31 July, less than a week before the Olympic Games are due to begin in Rio de Janeiro, in support of the so-called Operation Car Wash - an investigation into bribery and corruption allegations involving state-owned oil giant Petrobras.
The demonstration is expected to take place simultaneously in 25 cities across Brazil and in five international cities, including New York City, in the US, Milan in Italy and Lisbon in Portugal.
