Brazil pre-salt production hits new high

The figure, achieved on 20 February, represents 249,000bpd of Petrobras output with the rest attributable to other companies.

The milestone falls seven years after the region’s firstpre-salt oil discovery, and comes from 17 wells in the two basins, six inSantos and 11 in the Campos, Petrobras said in a statement.

The production comes from eight platforms, four of whichonly handle pre-salt production, including the Cidade de Sao Paulo FPSO and temporary Cidade de SaoVicente FPSO, which were both connected since the first of the year.
