The round is expected to build on growing interest in Brazil’s eastern Atlantic margin, such as the Potiguar and Sergipe-Alagoas basins, but is also likely to capitalise on the buzz that Uruguay’s licensing rounds have generated around the Pelotas basin, close to Brazil’s southern border.
Onshore blocks, new frontiers and mature areas have also been promised in the offering, which will be in the form of exploration and production concessions.
