The country's National Petroleum Agency is unlikely to offer new pre-salt acreage through production-sharing contracts before 2016 as it continues to review and reprocess seismic data, according to remarks from director Magda Chambriard in Houston on Wednesday.

Still, the development of huge pre-salt fields in unlicenced acreage including Buzios, Sapinhoa and Lapa see plenty of opportunities for business, Chambriard emphasised, saying those areas could "easily" support 40 production systems.
