In his request, chief prosecutor Rodrigo Janot said the two Brazilian leaders have tried to "block the two-year so called Car Wash probe into political kickbacks" at the state oil company, newspaper O Globo said on Tuesday.
Janot reportedly also requested Senate President Renan Calheiros be removed from his role over the same obstruction allegations.
Supreme Court Justice Teori Zavascki must now decide whether to accept the request, O Globo said.
