Oil exports through the Brent Pipeline System, a key evacuation route for crude from the UK northern North Sea, have resumed after a three-and-a-half week shut-down for maintenance work on a key platform.

A spokeswoman for pipeline operator Taqa said the system restarted on 17 December.

The shut-down occurred so safety-critical maintenance work could take place on the Cormorant Alpha platform, which houses processing for the system.
