Malaysia's Bumi Armada is seeking at least US$283.5 million from Australian operator Woodside Petroleum over the latter's cancellation of the contract covering the Armada Claire floating production, storage and offloading vessel earlier this year.

Bumi revealed Thursday it had filed a statement of claim against Woodside in the Supreme Court of Western Australia which included a claim for $275.8 million which it said would have been the amount it would be have been entitled to had the contract been terminated without breach, plus any additional losses as a result of the termination.
