The refund will be paid out to EnQuest, the field's operator, during the course of the charter term, beginning in the first half of 2017.
"This represents a partial reimbursement of an upfront amount previously paid by the charterers," Bumi said in a statement Thursday.
In addition, Bumi has already paid $20 million in liquidated damages to UK-based EnQuest.
The company was responding to a Malaysian news report that Bumi was still in talks with EnQuest over the refund.
