The well will test the Ungani Dolomite section that it oil bearing in the nearby but unrelated Ungani field as well as testing the deeper Nullara formation, which had good oil and gas shows but poor reservoir development.
Ungani North 1, in exploration permit EP 391, has a planned total depth of 3000 metres and is expected to take 30 days to drill.
